Jelani B. Garrett
President and CEO
Jelani has more than 20 years of experience in the field of affordable housing and community development. He has worked on projects totaling more than $275 million in investments and has experience in all aspects of the planning and implementation of affordable housing and neighborhood revitalization initiatives. He has demonstrated exceptional abilities in the areas of strategic planning, consensus building and project management. Jelani also has extensive property management and public housing program administration experience, serving as a Deputy Executive Director at two separate large New Jersey Public Housing Authorities. As a result of his experience Jelani brings a comprehensive knowledge of public housing administration and redevelopment. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies from Rutgers University, New Brunswick and a Master of Business Administration from Rutgers University, School of Business, Camden.
Nina D. Garrett
Vice President - Community and Supportive Services
Nina has more than 18 years of experience designing and implementing educational and supportive service programs, focusing on parental education and involvement in urban school districts. Nina has been successful in developing programs that recognize the diversity of family structures, circumstances and cultural backgrounds. She was instrumental in establishing and implementing parent involvement programs in Atlantic City, NJ that included the launching and administration of nine Title I Parent Resource Centers. Nina has demonstrated that she is skillful in building and maintaining community partnerships. As a result of her work she has been the recipient of a number of awards including Parent of the Year-Atlantic City Education Association, Phenomenal Women Image Award-Asbury United Methodist Church, Perseverance Award-Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. Upsilon Chapter Atlantic City, and the New Jersey Education Association Ethnic Minority Affairs and Leadership Image Award. She holds an Associate of Arts in Education from Atlantic Cape Community College.
